Last year going to the show was just as it's been in the past, you rocked up at the gate, said g'day to the volunteers, handed over your cash, talked about the weather as they found your change, and then you'd head on into the show.

This year though, thanks to COVID-19 and the requirements put in place to ensure everyone is registered, entry for Saturday's show be a bit different.
Not only will visitors be greeted by the showground's brand new archway, and the same cheery volunteers will be there of course, however to meet their COVID safe planning requirements they'll be asking visitors to scan the QR code that will be in place, or for those without a phone, a sign-on sheet can be used.
Blayney Show is one of the few shows that are going ahead in regional areas because of the difficulty in coordinating entry, and it's a testimony to the committee's hard work in just six weeks in discovering a way how to manage it.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
One of the ways that they're changing the way we get into the show is that for the first time visitors will be able to purchase their tickets online, which will make the entire entry procedure much faster.
Show secretary Tamara Miller said that provisions are being made to ensure that entry into the show isn't hampered by the process.
"We've moved the entry spot further into the showground so that cars won't be backed up onto the road," she said.
"We don't think that the code-scanning or sign-in will add that much more time than checking and finding the right change for everyone."
"We don't have eftpos facilities at the gate so paying cash is still the main method to get into the show," Mrs Miller said.

Inside the show itself there will be a few changes as well with barriers installed to help with one way traffic and hand wash stations scattered around the pavilions.
The show will be on Saturday, March 6, with a top temperature of around 21 degrees predicted.
