Duty Officer with Chifley Local Police District, Inspector Gerard Powell, said despite the best efforts of emergency crews, the rider, who was critically injured in the crash, died as a result of his injuries.
Inspector Powell said the crash occurred around 3.45pm, and while investigations into the fatality remain underway, it appears the rider lost control of the bike and was thrown from it.
Inspector Powell said the 26-year-old man was riding with a group of others when the incident occurred.
He said the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The alarm was raised with emergency services, police and paramedics raced to the scene, with three units from NSW Ambulance and the rescue helicopter all attending.
Inspector Powell said both general duties and detectives also attended the crash scene, with investigations into the matter ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
