McGrath has been involved in the greyhound industry for a number of years through her husband Jeremy - also a trainer - but on Monday it was her chance to shine, as three-year-old dog Tom's The Man raced home for victory at Kennerson Park for her first ever win.
"It's super exciting," she said after the race.
"This is my first ever dog and this is only his second ever start for me. I'm super happy."
"My husband has been in the sport for years, so I decided why not join in and have a go myself."
Nitro Boom ($3.40) and Mulberry Meg ($19) got away to the best start to take first and second in the first section of the GBOTA Welcome 0-1 Win (450 metres), before a slight collision halted their momentum, allowing Tom's The Man to come up the inside to snatch the lead.
It was a position that McGrath's dog would not surrender, as he won head Free Road ($8.50) and Bad Monday ($7).
