The Friends of McPhillamy Park lobby group has invited all nine councillors to a short gathering in Kings Parade from 5.15pm.

FoMP spokeswoman Jan Page will address the gathering on behalf of the lobby group before petition author Susan Douglas, supported by FoMP representatives Patricia Powell, Jim Blackwood, Sam Renzaglia, Abby Smith and Libby Loneragan, hands over the petition.
Ms Douglas started the petition at change.org more than two years and the number of signatories grew slowly for the first 24 months or so.
But that all changed last month when council announced its plan to start work on the track on March 8 (later abandoned following intervention by Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley) increased the urgency surrounding the petition, and a TikTok post by former Bathurst musician Gabbi Bolt protesting plans for the track drew a wider audience.
