Mo Chroi Play Cafe is a modern play cafe, designed to keep children entertained in a safe and fun environment where both parents and children can enjoy a selection of beautiful coffee and food.
She said the idea behind the cafe, located in Macquarie Plaza, William Street, was a space parents could relax and meet up with friends while their children play and enjoy themselves.
"They can meet friends for a play date where you can actually catch up while your children play happily in a safe and enclosed environment," she said.
Ms Cohen said while her dream has always been to be self employed, it was only a matter of months before the dream became a reality.
Her husband suggested she open her own business in late December, in January she started branding and looking at her logo and by February she had the keys to the cafe.
"I got the keys to the cafe on February 15, and we opened one month later to the day," she said.
Ms Cohen said as a mum of four young children, and group leader of a breastfeeding group, she wanted an environment where parents felt comfortable to bring their children where they could sit back, have a coffee and not have to worry about their children be children.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
She said as a mum, she often meets up with friends for a coffee but like most parents usually spent the whole time worried their kids are being too loud or running around disturbing other people inside the cafe.
"But here you don't have to worry if they are being noisy or playing with things.
"We've had parents come here and sit for two hours while their kids are playing. I had a Dad here yesterday who sat down and read his book, and said he was so grateful to be there," she said.
In addition to being a safe environment for kids, the cafe also sells yummy healthy food for both adults and children.
"There's no chips or nuggets on the menu here, it's a healthy menu designed for children," she said.
"We've got milk, juices, dip, crackers, fruit and vegetables.
"We even make baby food, mashed banana and fruit, all available on the menu.
The cafe has a $5 entry fee for adults which includes a coffee, and additional children are $2.50 each.
