A TEENAGE boy was taken to hospital on Sunday evening after being mauled by two dogs while out riding his pushbike.

Paramedics were among the emergency services that responded to the incident on the Eleven Mile Drive just before 5pm on Sunday, following reports a boy had been bitten by a dog.
When they arrived they found a 15-year-old boy with trauma to his ankle. He was taken to Bathurst Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Chifley Police District crime manager Chief Inspector Luke Rankin said police were called to the incident at around 5pm.

"Police received a report that a 15-year-old boy was bitten by dogs when riding a push bike with a group of family members along the Eleven Mile Drive," Chief Inspector Rankin said.
"They were riding past a dwelling when two bull Arab dogs ran out of the property, attacking the 15-year-old, pulling him from is bike and biting him several times in the process.
"Ambulance were called and when paramedics arrived the dogs were still present and posing a risk.
"Police were called and used capsicum spray to subdue the dogs who were also aggressive towards police when they arrived."
Inspector Rankin said the owners came from the property and identified the dogs as theirs.
Bathurst Regional Council rangers were also called and council rangers took over the investigation, which remain under way.
A spokesperson for Bathurst Base Hospital said the teenager has since been discharged.
