Kennedy has scored three tries in just two NRL matches this season, after scoring the same amount of tries in 17 games last season.
Following Cronulla's narrow loss to Canberra Raiders on Sunday night, Sharks coach John Morris was full of praise for Kennedy.

"Will's been outstanding. He's someone that's had a really good pre-season," he said.
"Will's probably been guilty of dropping his head if things aren't going well for him but this year he's super confident, really focused on his job.
"He's a very important part of our team, his positional play in the backs is outstanding and he's featured in some nice play for us - two tries last week and another one tonight.
"He's returning the ball back really strong and he's worked hard on his body, so I'm really happy with how Will's developing."
Sharks downed local rivals St George Illawarra Dragons in the opening round of the season, with Kennedy scoring the second and fourth try of Cronulla's five in the 32-18 win.
Kennedy also scored the opening try of Cronulla's narrow 12-10 defeat to Canberra Raiders in wet conditions on Sunday, with the Sharks halfback Chad Townsend missing a penalty on full-time that would've taken the match to extra-time if scored.
Cronulla plays Parramatta at Bankwest Stadium from 7.35pm on Saturday.
