It has been serving the Bathurst community for four decades now and on Friday Veritas House celebrated the occasion with the planting of a commemorative tree.

Veritas House, which provides a range of flexible services to children, young people, and families, was originally launched in Bathurst back in 1981, accommodating up to 100 children.
It has since grown to include a branch at Orange in 2014 and accommodate up to 300 children across the two cities.
Veritas House CEO Jody Pearce its a special time at the non-government agency.

"It's a special time for Veritas House because there's been many, many people that have contributed to Veritas over the years," she said.
"It's about acknowledging their contribution and their resilience. It's amazing that the young people that came through this house have gone on to do some great things."
Ms Pearce said it will be a "meaningful" few months for Veritas House, as it plans to celebrate 40 years with a number of other events and celebrations.
"It's an absolute privilege to work at Veritas House and it'll be a meaningful few months for us," he said.
"It's a privilege to work with some of the most resilient young people in our community but also see them move forward in their lives.
"It's a precious job and I know there's been so many stakeholders over the years that have committed to us. We've seen so many people flourish and that's the privilege of our job."
Veritas House decided to mark 40 years by planting a tree at its youth refuge because its logo incorporates a tree.
"In terms of the tree, our logo represents a tree and we feel that it's important to be imbedded and connected to the community," Ms Pearce said.
"We felt planting a tree represented that in a really nice way.
"It's a special day. Over the next few months we'll host a number of events to mark the 40 year milestone. We'll be planting some trees at the youth refuges in Orange too, to mark the occasion."
Ms Pearce said Veritas House has a number of services including youth accommodation, early intervention services and foster care services.
"It's a special service because it provides much needed accommodation and safety to young people that are homeless or at risk of homelessness," she said.
