The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) last week sent a team of 16 volunteers from the Chifley/Lithgow Team to Port Macquarie to assist in the recovery efforts.
Operational officer for the Chifley/Lithgow Team Brett Taylor said they took three trucks with them, one each from the Bathurst, Raglan and Wallerawang stations.
Mr Taylor said that team of 16 spent three days up the coast and returned via bus on Sunday, with another team of 10 volunteer firefighters hopping on a plane to take their place.
Those volunteers will return on Thursday and it is likely that a third team will need to be sent.
Mr Taylor said they've also been asked to send a strike team to Moree.

He is very proud of all the volunteers, who are leaving their family, friends and jobs to provide assistance.
"Our volunteers are very gracious in giving their time. There are always people willing to put up their hand to help," he said.
The team that just returned had stayed at a base camp at a basketball in Port Macquarie, as the hotels and motels are being used to accommodate people who were displaced in the flood emergency.
They could travel up to 100 kilometres in any direction to provide assistance, depending on what was needed each day.
"They're doing everything from chopping up trees, moving out mud and dirt, and cleaning up houses, anything to assist people in getting back to normal," Mr Taylor said.
The three trucks sent by the Chifley/Lithgow RFS team will remain up the coast until they're no longer needed.
The response to the floods has been a multi-agency effort.
Fire and Rescue NSW also sent a team of 45 volunteer firefighters from the western region last week, who returned from their five-day deployment on Sunday.
Inspector Tim Climo said it is likely another team will be sent up this week.
