Councillor Warren Aubin has made the suggestion previously, feeling that the vacant signs are unsightly and could be put to better use between race events.

He brought it up again at the March ordinary meeting of council.
"There's a lot of empty signs and they look absolutely woeful," Cr Aubin said.
"... I really would like to see if these empty areas could be actually used. I know there is agreements in place to keep signage up between races, but [for] the empty ones to be filled with local content. See if we could advertise, for instance, the [Royal Bathurst] show or events that are going on.
"I think we just need something there."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The director of Corporate Services and Finance, Aaron Jones, said that it was the cost of skinning the signs that made it "a non-viable solution".
"An individual sign, a skin for those signs is somewhere in the vicinity of $3500 to $5000," he said.
"... If memory serves, there's about 20 individual signs around that track, so you would be looking at, rough as rough, $60,000 to skin all the signs, but then if you're looking to promote multiple events, it'll be a multiplier on top of that."
Mayor Bobby Bourke asked if it there was an opportunity for council to have one or two of the signs done permanently, to which Mr Jones said there was.
However, council would need to have sufficient funds set aside in its budget to do that.
