The Advocate contacted Corrective Services NSW after hearing about allegations of sexual harassment at the jail.
A Corrective Services NSW spokesperson said it would be inappropriate to comment further while the matter is being investigated.
The spokesperson said assistant commissioner for offender management and programs Dr Anne Marie Martin attended Bathurst Correctional Centre on Wednesday, April 14 "to speak with staff about a range of concerns and discuss ways to improve the workplace culture".
The Advocate also contacted the Public Service Association (PSA), the union which covers corrective services workers.
A PSA spokesperson said the union is assisting members.
"Everyone deserves to feel safe at work," the spokesperson said.
