The program, launched in early March, brings together a long list of cultural and heritage events over an eight week period during autumn.
Much of the program had to be scrapped in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but events were able to return this year thanks to an easing of restrictions.
Mayor Bobby Bourke said there has been a lot of interest in the program so far.
"There has been strong interest in the 2021 Autumn Colours heritage tours program, with many of the tours selling out before their start date," he said.
"The tours offer residents and visitors of Bathurst to go behind the scenes at some of our most significant historical sites led by local experts.
"It is a unique chance to explore the places they live and visit on a regular basis but perhaps never knew about the history in detail."
The program started on March 13 with a walking tour through Rockley.
Since then, people have been able to tour the Perthville Convent Heritage Centre, learn more about McPhillamy Park, attend high teas, among other things.
Cr Bourke said the most popular events so far have been the Bathurst Heritage Trades Trail, Graham Lupp's town square tours, Abercrombie House Behind the Scenes, Heritage High Tea, and Kids Night Tours, and Bathurst Cemetery Wanders.
They are being enjoyed not only by Bathurst residents, but visitors to the region, too.
"The events have attracted a good mix of visitors and locals residents," Cr Bourke said.
"In particular the Heritage Trades Trail had around 50 per cent of its attendees from outside the 2795 postcode. Visitors travelled from Greater Sydney and the Blue Mountains, Central West, the Riverina, and the South Coast."
The Autumn Colours program will conclude on May 9. Copies of the program are available online or at the visitor information centre.
