But in no way was the service any less special in comparison to larger commemorative events.
The smaller service at the aged care facility was at the suggestion of resident Greg Standen, who felt residents deserved a small service in lieu of regular proceedings.
"There's one bloke here who fought in the Korean War and plenty who served in Vietnam, so we felt it was important to stage a commemoration of our own," Mr Standen said.
"A mate of ours, Colin, hasn't been well at all lately, but he's been looking forward to this all week, and we're glad he was able to come."
"Anzac Day commemorates what our troops fought for: the peaceful country we have today: and we're very thankful to the Bathurst RSL Sub Branch for helping us put this service together."
The service was delivered by Bathurst RSL Sub Branch chaplain Reverend Howard Knowles.
Reverend Knowles said it was important to lead a commemorative service at the aged care facility, with residents unable to attend major commemorative events on Anzac Day due to the facility's restrictions.
"Much of Bathurst's aged care demographic features ex-servicemen and women, so it's a great honour to be able to give them a service this year, as last year, we were in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown," he said.
"I know many of the residents have been looking forward to this, and on behalf of the Sub Branch, it's important to give all veterans the opportunity to commemorate."
The commemorative service was attended by approximately 20 residents.
