Jenolan Caves Road was closed last month following a massive landslip that rendered the route impassable.
With no alternate access to Jenolan Caves available, the popular tourist precinct has also been closed for an extended period, its fourth closure due to a combination of fire, flood and COVID-19 in the past 16 months.
But there are now hopes the road and the precinct could reopen in mid-May.
"This continues to be tough for our business and our staff and we understand it will be disappointing for a lot of our guests that were hoping to visit us," a Jenolan Caves spokesperson posted on Facebook.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"As outlined previously, we offer complete booking flexibility and our staff are happy to assist you by arranging alternative a voucher valid for up to three years or providing a refund for any cancellations for experiences that have been pre-paid."
"That will provide them with key information to determine traffic management solutions, ensuring the safety of staff and guests," the post read.
"The extension is also required to determine a long-term recovery and access plan for the Hampton Bend and '5-Mile' road into Jenolan from Sydney side which will take considerably longer to repair.
"These access roads affect the travel route for staff, guests and the community, and therefore adequate time is needed to determine safe solutions and alternatives."
