They're Stepz ahead
Dubbo's newest gym, Stepz Fitness, has passed its first month in business.
Founded by Sam Waller, the gym opened its doors at the Delroy Shopping Centre at the start of the month. The Dubbo team is led by Brodie Hennifey.
"We work on the motto that everyone is welcome. We want this to be a no ego, non-intimidatory environment where people can come do a class or weight circuit then sit down at our communal table near reception and have a chat and socialise before they leave," Mr Waller said.
Paint and sip sessions
Pinot and Picasso is continuing to prove popular with sessions like the ever-popular Frida Kahlo continuing to sell out. The three hour paint and sip sessions provide step-by-step instructions on creating a beautiful canvas.
Franchise owner Chris Christodoulou has also announced the first pop-up session which will be held at the Cow and Calf in Wellington on May 22. Limited places are available.
Bookings to any of the sessions can be made via the Pinot and Picasso website.
Safety-first training
A BATHURST industry training provider has recently expanded into a commercial space in Keppel Street to answer a need for local employees to keep first aid and workplace health and safety [WHS] qualifications up to date.
After five years working out of her home office, Kylie Johnston has expanded her business, Industry Training and Assessment Services, into a new facility at 41C Keppel Street, with new rooms to offer concise training for first aid, health care and WHS.
The larger facility also creates room for Ms Johnston to offer Certificate III and IV courses in Ageing and Disability, short courses for health care,WHS and justice of the peace services.
Feel the power
SOLAR power company Sola.Energy will host an information session at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Saturday at 10.30am to tell community members about its move into the Bathurst region.
Sola.Energy says it is providing $800,000 worth of solar into the community to help homeowners, businesses and renters access renewable energy without having to pay for hardware or installation.
"This program is available from April 24 and we're coming to meet with the local community directly and help you understand how you can save money on your electricity bills instantly from solar just by switching energy providers," a spokesperson said.
Celebrating 100 years
Orange business Orange Electrical Works, established in 1921, is celebrating a huge milestone, 100 years of operation this year.
The current owners, David and Nerralie Boulton took over Orange Electrical Works John Green, named after the son of Oliver Bolam Green, in 1995. Together with a team of 17 highly-trained employees they offer all things electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning and solar, and contract for a range of commercial, government and residential projects.
