David Ashton is right to suggest that Australia needs to step up on reducing emissions.
Australia is a rich country, partly due to flogging off fossil fuels, the major contributors to global warming.
Bathurst has one of the highest levels of solar irradiance in the world yet only about 25 per cent of its dwellings have solar systems.
OTHER RECENT LETTERS:
While it's good that some of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation's new highly energy-efficient homes for low-income families have been built in Bathurst, more can be done.
Some local government councils have programs that help residents to install solar panels through bulk buying and paying back costs via rates.
Others point landlords and tenants to relevant solar schemes.
If there is a link on Bathurst Regional Council's website to the NSW Government's solar energy website, it is hard to find.
