The Alan Provest-trained We Fix Pipes ($2.60) needed a quick start from the chaotic Bathurst 450m start otherwise she was going to quickly be pushed out of the battle.
She showed the early pace she needed to cross My Effect ($6, Victor Sultana) and take the lead into the back straight.
The lead going into the back straight was only a length between the top two runners but by the time We Fix Pipes entered to bend for home she had opened the gap up to two and a half lengths.
The field of six were strung out over a long distance, and the remaining bunch of Joseph's Coat, Tilly's Big Bro, Uralla and Winchester were well out of the hunt with more than 150m to run.
My Effect remained the only chance of chasing down We Fix Pipes but Provest's bitch only opened the gap up further, winning by 3.5 lengths in a time of 25.78.
She ran the 500m last time and was just a little bit underdone at her first start.

Joseph's Coat ($2.20 favourite, Ashley Dwyer) won the scrap for third.
It was the second career start for We Fix Pipes after a fourth placing on debut at the same venue in mid-April, over the 520m.
Bathurst trainer Provest is keen to get We Fix Pipes back up to the 500m after her encouraging performance on Monday.
"She ran the 500m last time and was just a little bit underdone at her first start, but she trialled really good here the other day," he said.
"She always shows speed early. She'll probably take that step back up again because I think she can run the 500m really good. It all just depends on what races come up for her.
"The litter has been very good and they're very well bred."
