Saturday is likely to be a cloudy with a top of just 10 degrees Celsius before the mercury really starts to plummet in the evening.
The bureau is forecasting a minimum of -6 degrees on Sunday morning, accompanied by widespread frosts.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The day will clear to a mostly sunny day and a top of 12 degrees but the cold nights will continue through the week.
Bathurst can expect minimums of 0 on Monday, -2 on Tuesday, -3 on Wednesday and -1 on Thursday with maximums ranging between 12 and 17.
There's no rain in the forecast for the next week and snow watchers will also have to wait a little longer for the season's first falls.
