Programs were run at Bathurst Library and Bathurst Regional Art Gallery over the holidays in March and April, while the visitor information centre was also able to direct people to activities.

Councillor Monica Morse praised the activities at the library, which included a booked-out candle making workshop and a Mini-Beast workshop.

"Our library is absolutely fantastic," Cr Morse said.

"... They do have wonderful programs in the school holidays, wonderful staff who sing and tell stories. I know we also have the museums and the information centre, but I think the library is best."

The art gallery was also praised for running Bathurst's Big Draw.

The artist-led workshop was held over two days and saw the exterior windows of the library covered in drawings of buildings inspired by the local area.

It attracted 51 participants of all ages.

"There was so much interest in it and it just looked absolutely amazing," Cr Jacqui Rudge said.

Activities aside, there was an 84 per cent increase in pageviews on the bathurstregion.com.au website compared to the Christmas holiday period.
