The exhibition, entitled Overcome, features 11 artists who have artistically expressed their experience overcoming issues such as disability, mental health, trauma and addiction.
For artist Brooke Beale, her colourful collection of drawings expresses her success in conquering drugs, alcohol and men, as well as an affinity for her proud Kamilaroi culture.
"Art is my therapy, and this is the first time I've publicly displayed any of my works," Ms Beale said.
"I'd love for some of these designs to end up on t-shirts, and I truly feel everyone has the ability to draw; don't be detracted by the work of others."
TAFE Bathurst teacher and artist Bridget Thomas, who curated Overcome alongside Arts OutWest's Steven Cavanagh, said the exhibition spawned from an inclusive community effort.
"We ran workshops with a host of local community support organisations to produce banners leading people into the exhibition," Ms Thomas said.
Overcome will be on display from 10am to 3pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
