There will be changed in place at Mount Lambie, about 40km east of Bathurst, throughout the work.
Crews will be replacing asphalt to improve the road surface and provide a safer, smoother journey for motorists.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
To reduce the impact on motorists, work will be carried out at night from June 6 to June 25 between 7pm and 6am, Monday to Sunday, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place during work hours, including lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h for the safety of workers and motorists.
A detour via Range Road and Pipers Flat Road will be also in place for motorists travelling eastbound. Westbound motorists will travel along the Great Western Highway.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow extra travel time (up to eight minutes for eastbound motorists) and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
