SHE made a big impression during the qualifiers earlier this year and now Bathurst's Lily Kovac is hoping to bring similar form into this weekend's 2021 NSW Motocross State Titles at Cessnock.

Kovac, 13, will test herself over both the girls under 12s to 16s 85cc class and the under 13s to 16s girls 250cc category at the event also known as the King of MX.
Despite having only made her debut in the 250cc class back at February's Northern Qualifier in Moree, Kovac looked very settled on the bike as she finished in second.
Cowra's Woodstock track gave Kovac some valuable practice time ahead of the weekend's trip north.
"The qualifiers were back at Moree in February and she went really well. She got third place in the 85cc class on the CRF150, and that was the first time she'd raced on the 250 and she came second in that," he said.
"Those were really good results. We went down to Woodstock Speedway last weekend to get a bit more flat corner experience, since all the other racing got cancelled."
The Bathurst rider finds herself among a field of 15 for the 85cc finals and a group of 12 in the 250cc class - a big step up from the smaller fields she faced in Moree.
While a podium would be a dream result Kovac is hoping to get herself towards the top half of her respective fields.
"She'll be going for a top five finish," he father said.
"There will be some really, really good riders there. At Moree she was up against the Queensland state champ and Lily came second to her.
"In the last race she was actually leading the whole way right up until the second last corner. But that's just racing and it was a really good experience for her."
Kovac has already made big strides in motocross having only taken up the sport around three years ago.
Kovac also wanted to thank her supporters at Coleman's Equipment, Inco Group, Lithgow Bike Stop, Tint and Protect and DMK Designs, along with her trainers Meg Rutledge and Darren O'Dwyer.
The racing at Cessnock Motorcross Club gets started on Saturday 9am and will run through Sunday and Monday.
