There had been strong speculation leading up to Tuesday's announcement about where Mostert would end up next season, with some believing he would head for the vacant seat left by Jamie Whincup at Triple Eight Race Engineering.
The 29-year-old came across to WAU from Tickford Racing in 2020, bringing 13 race wins, 51 podiums and 20 pole positions with him.
The biggest of those successes was his Bathurst 1000 victory in 2014.
Mostert is currently enjoying an improved season with WAU, and his race win at the Tasmania SuperSprint this season was his first victory in over two years.
"I'm super pumped to sign on with Walkinshaw Andretti United on a multi-year deal, and repay the faith that Ryan, Martine, Michael, Zak and the entire WAU team showed in me," Mostert said.
"It's been pretty incredible to see what we've been able to achieve together in a short amount of time, under some pretty challenging circumstances, so I'm excited for the future, and have no doubt that will continue.
"It was a no-brainer for me to re-sign that's for sure. This team is incredible, full of amazing people and it is very family orientated. Why would I leave my family?"
Mostert currently sits third in the Supercars standings.
The championship makes its way to Hidden Valley Raceway this weekend.
