Thank you for your point of view, Terry Burke, but I have to disagree.

Parking rear to the kerb is so much safer, particularly for loading and unloading the vehicle.

I've been in Bathurst for over 40 years now and my husband, who came from Goulburn, agrees.

OTHER RECENT LETTERS:

As the parents of triplets, we found we could contain them with the doors opening so they had to go towards the footpath rather than opening towards the road.

Also, loading the boot is safer from the footpath rather than the roadside.

In places where there is front-in parking, many drivers are forced to pray and just back out, because they cannot see any traffic past larger vehicles.

At least rear-in parking means the driver can pull over and wait to park and, when exiting, can wait until the traffic is clear.
