ALSO MAKING NEWS:
This year the event raised in excess of $2.7million dollars, and had over 400 CEOs, business owners and managers participating.
Ms McDiarmid said the event was held at the White Bay Cruise Terminal as well as other venues including Newcastle , Wollongong and Irange.
"There were also hundreds of people camping at home and sleeping on the lounge to raise money as well," she said.
Ms McDiarmid said the night was quite confronting.
"Listening and meeting people who Vinnies have helped in real life with stories of homelessness, people with no family and people who have gone through horrific domestic violence but hearing their stories has really brought it home for why it is so important we raise this money.
"Vinnies helps families in need who cannot get accommodation , they help to be a non judgmental friend and help to so many along with stories of helping educate kids, helping to feed people, clothing and ultimately helping keep people alive and off the streets," she said.
She said it was "an inspiring event" adding they expect much sleep and "hoped for no rats."
