The item was added to the operational plan for 2021-22 on Wednesday night as council finalised its budget deliberations.
The project was added by councillor Alex Christian, although he wasn't the only one to push for it behind the scenes, and was unanimously supported.
Council has committed $70,000 to fix the roof, which leaks so badly when it rains that sport is called off.
Cr Christian called the users of the indoor sports stadium "the real winners" in the budget.
"They've been calling out to get that roof fixed for a long time. It's almost like a bad joke, we have an indoor sport stadium where you can't play sport in there when it rains," he said.
"It's fantastic tonight that we can actually put that in the budget, it's $70,000, and I'd like to congratulate all those people who fought for that and raised it as an issue."
There was also some good news for the Bathurst District Historical Society.
The group is set to hold an event marking the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, with Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) initially planned as the venue.
Council granted a fee waiver of $7000, but the event has since been moved to Bathurst Showground due to expected visitor numbers, so the historical society asked for a cash donation of $3000.
Council staff had recommended against the donation, but councillors decided to grant the $3000, with it to be funded from money for the sister city of Ohkuma budget.
The adoption of council's budget includes the allocation of funds to projects previously reported on.
This includes a $2 million expenditure on the stormwater harvesting scheme, $2 million for solar panels at the wastewater treatment works, and just under $3.5 million has been allocated for a series of projects at the aerodrome.
