The business, The Bathurst Cleaning Company, will offer employment for people with disabilities at an award wage rate, providing interior cleaning services for commercial businesses around Bathurst.
Chief executive officer Nick Packham said nine Vivability clients have already been employed, and have built up their skills working around the organisation's four office spaces.
"I've never been interested in subsidised wage schemes for people with disabilities; if you can target employment opportunities at a skill they're good at, or they can learn to be good at, they deserve to earn an award wage," Mr Packham said.
"We've brought Stephen Harper on board to manage the business, and we feel he'll be an asset to The Bathurst Cleaning Company with his diverse background in business and the cleaning sector."
Mr Harper, who is also vice president of the Bathurst Business Chamber, said he's excited to help build a community-centric business designed to enhance the wellbeing of people with disabilities.
"We're looking forward to expand into other avenues in town, and will look to grow the business where the demand is," he said.
Mr Packham said any people or businesses wishing to get involved in the new venture are encouraged to get in touch with Mr Harper at Vivability via 63019502.
"The priorities are providing jobs for people with disabilities and a great service for businesses," he said.
