Having to juggle extra needs, appointments and supports for your child while also balancing the other needs in your life can take its toll.

But there is help available.

Glenray is committed to supporting families and children and was approved last year to provide Voluntary Out of Home Care to children and young people across the Central West.

This means that Glenray can now provide support to children in the capacity of respite care, programs and other voluntary out of home care help.

Glenray's respite program offers short to medium term accommodation for people of all ages, from kids up to adults, in a modern home in Bathurst.

Respite can be a great opportunity for the person to have some new experiences, see a new town, and gain some independence, all while being supported by trained staff and backed by the 60 years of support experience of Glenray.

Respite also offers families and carers an opportunity to rest, relax and have a well-earned break from the stresses of supporting and caring for a person living with a disability.

People who have benefited from respite often say how it was "just the break" they needed, and that they feel "rejuvenated" to tackle the next obstacle.

While some people are referred to respite from a GP or health professional, you don't have to be and can inquire about respite vacancies by emailing support@glenray.com.au.

Coming up on July 23 is National Pyjama Day, to support kids living in foster care.

Glenray staff and participants will be wearing our PJs for the day to support and raise funds for this worthy cause.
