On July 7, a letter of mine was published in which I complained, among other things, about the tardiness of government members in responding to local constituents.
Today I received a letter from our federal member, Andrew Gee, in which he apologised for not responding before this to my letter of February 24.
RECENT LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:
He went on to indicate that he too shared my concern and disgust at the alleged behaviour going on around the Federal Parliament. Finally, he indicated that he had forwarded on to the appropriate minister my urging for the creation of a genuine federal ICAC body.
A reply, when received, would be forwarded on to me. I have marked the date!
The moral of the story is exercise your democratic right to approach members of parliament with your concerns.
They are elected as our representatives first and foremost.
It is said that one personally signed letter carries more weight than 100 signatures on a petition.
