102,233 was the number of people who turned up for COVID-19 testing on Saturday, setting a new record in our state's race to contain an outbreak of the deadly Delta variant.
These are the people we should be putting on a pedestal, not the clowns who took it upon themselves to break public health orders in Sydney's CBD and other cities on the same day.
If lockdowns are extended, tightened or toughened in any way over the next few days we should blame every single person who attended one of these so-called freedom rallies. Every single person who attended. Anywhere.
You are not the heroes. You are ignorant, arrogant, selfish and irresponsible buffoons.
Your "protests" didn't even make sense. Far from convincing our political and health leaders to unwind the current lockdowns in various areas of the state, all you did was make it more likely that the limits to your precious freedom will be extended.
Let's hope all of you who attended didn't succeed in ensuring the spread of the highly-contagious Delta variant of COVID-19 even further throughout our community. As far as that is concerned, only time will tell unfortunately.
We all pray and hope each of you do not get sick. Even more we pray those people who are your loved ones do not contract the virus from you and you are forced to live the rest of your life with that burden on your shoulders.
You are not brave, bold or fearless by choosing to attend these rallies.
The bold, brave and fearless ones in our community are the people doing the right thing and living by the guidelines put in place to keep our community safe.
Thank you to all of those people.
Thank you to all of those people coming forward for testing and thank you to all of those people getting vaccinated.
You are the real heroes.
The only way through this is with mass vaccination.
New mass vaccination hubs are being opened in larger centres and these will assist in getting a greater number of our people in this community vaccinated.
People have options available to them to be get their vaccination organised now.
Don't delay. If you want to get out of lockdown, get vaccinated.
