Bathurst council election candidate Stuart Driver would rather see a "voting week" than for voting to move online in 2021.

The local government elections have been pushed back to December 4, prompting calls from the Bathurst mayor and deputy mayor for voting to be moved online to ensure safety during the pandemic.
However, Mr Driver, who will contest the election as an independent candidate, said that not everyone has the skills or ability to access online voting.

He is also concerned about the security of online voting.
Instead, Mr Driver thinks he election should be run over one week in one or two venues, similar to pre-poll.
He is open to online voting being used in certain circumstances, as are catered for now with the electoral commission's iVote system.
"I think we should always have access to traditional voting. I think we can have online voting for people who have illness or mobility problems if it can be done securely," he said.
"I would have concerns about going to an online process exclusively."
