Earlier this week the Premier announced Pfizer doses are being redistributed from the region to south west and western Sydney due to the need to vaccinate Year 12 students in the LGAs most affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak and reduce the risk of the virus escaping into the regions.
Up to 40,000 Pfizer doses will be allocated from NSW Health's rural and regional supply of COVID-19 vaccine.
Western NSW Local Health District chief executive officer Scott McLachlan said on Friday he knows vaccination concerns across the region have grown in the last 24 hours with news vaccines are being diverted into Sydney.

Mr McLachlan said the health district was providing support and advice to people that were booked in to have their first of their Pfizer shots.
"Those phone calls are underway to offer an alternative of AstraZeneca or to help find an appointment with a general practitioner, Aboriginal Medical Service or Respiratory Clinic in the region that does have a decent supply of Pfizer.
"We've taken steps to try and supply that help and advice to all of the people (affected) to make sure they can still get their vaccination as soon as possible."
He said anyone who has already had their first shot through clinic is guaranteed of second shot.
"The booking is in the system and kept, the change is purely for people who haven't had their first shot."
He said the uptake of the alternative AstraZeneca was good.
"There is definitely a growing number taking AstraZeneca, we know it's a safe and effective vaccine.
"We know there were concerns generated over the last three or four months, but that was in a very different context when there wasn't Covid circulating around Australia.
"AstraZeneca is a great choice for people particularly those 40 plus, across the region," he said.
