With winter holidays, bye rounds and poor weather conditions the A grade competition hasn't seen much action over the past few months.
But should things get rolling this Saturday the Scots All Saints College and Panthers match will be one to watch.
SASC coach Michael Germech said his players are keen to test themselves against the three top-ranked teams from the halfway point of the season.
"It's been six weeks since we've played and the girls are chomping at the bit. They're playing well and they want to put their best foot forward," he said.
"The important thing is that we've got our full team back so we want to rotate everybody through so that everybody gets a run. With the grades split, we want to see if we can get ourselves set for a crack at the finals.
"One of the things about my coaching that people would recognise is that I don't focus on winning round games as long as we get that invitation to the big dance at the end.
"This game is about having a run, blowing out cobwebs and giving everyone a chance to get together again. The result is secondary to all of those other considerations."
The first major aim for SASC this A grade season was to find their way into the top half of the eight-team competition, in order to be included in the top four split at the halfway mark.
They've got that one ticked off the list.
Now the next one is to win the competition.
Is that unrealistic, given the quality of their three rivals - Panthers, Bulldogs and Collegians - who have been used to this stage of the season for years on end?
Germech certainly doesn't think so, with the squad he's got on hand.
"We've got a squad that can compete with the best teams and the results prior to the holidays showed us that," he said.
"We made the top half of the draw, now we need to get the team to a position where they can push for a better performance again, and really learn what our best combination is.
"Obviously we've got some thoughts about each team, having played them once or twice already this season, and over the next few weeks we'll look to get clear in our minds what we need to do against each team.
"Every team has different strengths so we have to make our strengths shine through and we need to play in ways that exploit the teams that we're going up against."
Scots All Saints College and Panthers play in the first A grade game of the day at 1.15pm.
Bulldogs Verdelho faces Collegians in the later top grade clash at 3.45pm.
