BATHURST police have renewed their warning for residents to ensure they lock all windows and doors to their homes, garages and garden sheds following another spate of break-ins.

A police spokesperson said opportunistic thieves had taken advantage of unlocked doors and windows in recent days.
"There have been quite a few break and enters across the district and in most instances entry has been gained through an unlocked door or window," the spokesperson said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"If you are broken into, report and do not touch any surfaces until a forensic examination has been conducted.
"And if you hear or see anything suspicious in your neighbourhood, please contact police at the time or if an emergency dial triple-0."
People with information relating to the break-ins can also phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police have reminded people not to report any crime information on social media sites.
