Since its first official day of trade on Wednesday, a host of excited potential patrons have been getting in touch with the venue to check out the makeover, which came from an extensive six-month renovation process.
"The phone hasn't stopped ringing, and we've fielded so many Facebook messages and posts from people wanting to drop in for a drink and a meal," 1880 Hotel co-owner Nicci Muller said.
"Our first day went really well, and we can't wait to continue welcoming members of the community in the coming weeks."
The venue has been completely revitalised at the site of the former Edinboro Castle Hotel [or 'The Eddy' for short], which closed in 2019, with Ms Muller assuming ownership alongside Ross Clark, Jason and Tam Oates.
In a similar vein to The George Hotel and The Victoria Bathurst, both of which have undergone significant facelifts over the past few years, the 1880 Hotel has unleashed a diverse roster of on-tap beer, wine and spirits [including local flavours], attractive dining options and a relaxed atmosphere.
But Ms Muller said the venue's team has added their own distinctive flair to the restored CBD attraction.
"We've got a whiskey bar set up in one of the rooms for people after a quieter experience, and we feel it's a niche Bathurst is yet to properly fill," she said.
"Live music is also something we're keen to get up and running on a regular basis, especially once renovations on the outdoor area are complete."
Mr Oates said the venue's centralised location within the Bathurst CBD will lend itself to plenty of possibilities.
"We have the Bathurst Council Chambers, the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre and the state government office building as neighbours, so there's a diverse clientele to draw from," he said.
"COVID's a real issue at the moment with regards to crowd management, but once we weather that storm, we'll be able to start stretching our legs, and we feel we have the ideal team to make this venue prosper."
The venue has also notably moved away from the provision of poker machines, the fourth Bathurst venue to do so in six years.
"We want this venue to be an engaging and attractive place for conversation, entertainment, family gatherings and great food," Ms Muller said.
The venue is taking bookings online and by phone for lunch and dinner. For more information, visit the 1880 Hotel Facebook page.
