Last week, it was reported in the Western Advocate that the committee would meet to discuss whether restricting people from the Sydney lockdown region (which included Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shoalhaven) entering due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
The committee made the decision to ban greater Sydney-based entrants due to the threat COVID-19 posed on the regional community.
Entrants will also be restricted to 500 only, after originally allowing up to 750 a few months ago.

"We decided to restrict it to 500 but also restrict it to people in the regional areas, outside of the Sydney hotspots," committee member Ray Stapley said.
"There's also a worry about Dubbo at the present moment. We'll just keep looking at it week by week, to determine what we've got to do.
"We'll just allow from Lithgow out west and we'll take it week by week and hopefully things will improve. The worry is that COVID is getting close to Bathurst now."
The Edgell Jog has been scheduled for Sunday, September 19, with the committee to make any necessary changes in the coming weeks if needed.
"Obviously the committee is concerned about what's going on, but we don't want to risk anything happening in Bathurst. We'll play it by ear," he said.
"We've got 150-odd entries so far. There's probably less than 10 that are in the Sydney area, so we're pretty lucky in lots of respect that we haven't got too many that we're going to have to refund money to.
"Everything is looking good at the present moment but it's just getting closer with the Dubbo thing. That's the biggest worry.
"All we can do as a committee is just follow the health advice and obviously we're pretty responsible. We're not going to jeopardise out here for a jog. Obviously we won't it on because there's so many people that want it on. People get pretty depressed with nothing much happening."
Entries are still open for the 45th edition of the Edgell Jog, however, they will not be allowed on the day.
Cost is $30 for an adult, $15 for a child aged 16 or under and a family is $50.
