The move comes after the upgrades to the Sportsground, which will the venue transformed into Bathurst's premier cricket facility.
It does, however, bring an end to athletics' association with the venue, with the neighbouring Morse Park to house the club for the foreseeable future.

Bathurst Little Athletics president Mike Curtin said the change in venue will have a number of positives.
"There a number of positives about the move to Morse Park, such as Morse Park the only IAAF [International Amateur Athletic Federation] standard track layout in Bathurst," he said.
"Just like at the Olympic games, it has two straights and two bends. The Sportsground was basically a circle around a cricket pitch.
"With Morse Park, our athletes - especially those who move on to higher competitions such as zone, regional and state - will learn what it's like to run a bend and a straight."
However, there are a number of drawbacks to not being based at the Sportsground, such as no fence and all equipment still located inside the Sportsground's shed.
"The biggest drawback is it's not fenced. We have to really make sure parents are on guard, with little kids running around near the highway," Mr Curtin said.
"The only other issue is that all our gear is in the shed inside the Sportsground, so that will need to be transferred to Morse Park every night and returned back to the shed."
While there has been some negative backlash about the Sportsground upgrades affecting athletics, Mr Curtin had been aware of the project a number of years ago.
"Mark Kimbel from Bathurst Regional Council has been really good and really understanding," he said.
"We've known this is going to happen for a few years, that the work at the Sportsground was going to happen.
"It's not new and the rug wasn't pulled out from under our feet, as some people have suggested. There was never going to be a good time, but it may as well be now."
Registration for the upcoming athletics season is currently open via the website at www.bathurstaths.org.au.
There'll be two trial nights held in September before the first official competition on Thursday, October 7.
