It will be largely business as usual for council's essential services and maintenance teams but the library, art gallery, BMEC and Bathurst Rail Museum head a long list of council-run facilities that will be closed to the public this week.
The civic centre will also be closed with people urged to phone 6333 6111 or email council@bathurst.nsw.gov.au with inquiries. Development applications can be lodged online.
Mayor Ian North urged the community to do their bit in stopping the spread of COVID and abiding by the current Stay-At-Home orders.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"Council has made significant changes to its operations to help protect our workforce and the broader community, while ensuring essential works and services continue," Cr North said.
"Council's COVID response taskforce met this morning to finalise plans for the operation of council's facilities under the Stay-At-Home orders that are now in place."
Cr North said works and maintenance crews would be out and about with appropriate COVID-safe measures in place.
"Essential services - our water, waste and sewer facilities continue as a matter of public health and safety," he said.
"Essential inspections and regulatory functions will also continue with appropriate COVID-safe measures in place.
"... Can I also encourage people to reach out to services like Lifeline, Beyond Blue or Headspace if you need support during these very challenging times."
