It's a case of inconvenient, but necessary deja vu for Bathurst's clubs and pubs as the state-wide lockdown has forced venues back into take-away and, in some cases, mothball territory.

But while there's pressing complications regarding venues in lockdown [i.e. no Jobkeeper this time], venues are, at least, returning into familiar territory without the same degree of uncertainty faced last year.
Bathurst RSL Club general manager Peter Sargent said the lockdown was "the right call" despite the obvious inconveniences toward local clubs and pubs.
"I think it's important to stop and encourage everyone to stay home and help the state get on top of this current crisis," Mr Sargent said.
"We've committed to ensuring none of our team members will be out of pocket during this seven-day shutdown, and will review it if the lockdown extends; our key focus is looking after our team."
Mr Sargent said while the lockdown does present its challenges, local venues should count themselves lucky they've been able to remain open longer than their Sydney counterparts, who have been locked down since late June.
"We accept having to shut the doors, and hopefully it won't be to long before the club reopens again," he said.
Mr Sargent said The Grind will remain open throughout the duration of the lockdown for take-away services.
"A lot of our members rely on us for a daily cooked meal, so we're doing 'ready to heat and eat' meals out of The Grind daily between 10am and 2pm," he said.
"There's $10 specials people can choose from every day, alongside The Grind's regular services."
