As an essential service, The Little Pantry will stay open on Thursdays [11am-1pm and 3pm-4pm] throughout lockdown for people to collect shopping items.
The Greens on William manager Rebecca Mathie said there's no restrictions as to who can access the service, but is ideal for those who have had hours cut back or have lost their work altogether.
"You don't need to be on a Centrelink pension, it's open to anyone who has been affected by COVID-19 and various other social issues," Ms Mathie said.
"We have a bunch of frozen ready-made meals available at the moment, as well as fruit, vegetables and bread; the minimum spend is $20, but can go up to 60-80 items per family."
Ms Mathie said while the variety of food sourced from Foodbank NSW & ACT has been limited in recent times, The Greens have been working closely with Hope Care Bathurst to bolster stock via the Food Rescue Central West regional distribution project.
"When we can't get anything through Foodbank, we sometimes get in touch with Elliot [Redwin, Hope Care operations and welfare services manager] and he drops off one or two pallets of produce; Hope Care has been a major help," she said.
"We've also teed up a partnership with Woolworths in Bathurst City Centre where we pick up fresh produce twice a week."
