Mr Morgan, who was photographed by the Western Advocate receiving his first AstraZeneca vaccination earlier this week, said he was pleased with the swift nature of the process, and has encouraged the community to get onto it as soon as possible.
"It was painless, easy and I have had no side effects, and it was one of the most important things I have done," he said.
"From Australia's peak health authorities right through to our own local medical practitioners, everyone who understands the COVID problem medically has advised those who can to be vaccinated against the virus as soon as possible."
Mr Morgan, a regular commentator on Bathurst's tourism sector, said the entire sector is being deeply affected once again as lockdowns place further pressure on cultural and hospitality operators.
"We were fortunate to have a mini-boom at the beginning of the year, but this time the shutdown is more difficult for many small businesses and the prospect of a third shutdown next year would be a devastating blow to small cafes, restaurants, coach travel companies and independent tourism operators," he said.
