It's for this very reason that Ms Standen has received a nomination at the 2021 NSW/ACT AusMumpreneur Awards in the Creative Entrepreneur category.
Ms Standen, who started Greer Films with her partner, Pat Greer, three-and-a-half years ago, said creative planning has been essential to the function of both business and home.
"An important quote I've taken from a book I read recently is that 'a balanced life doesn't exist', which has resonated with me in the sense that you have to constantly test your limits to achieve breakthroughs," she said.
"From a business perspective, Pat and I have always prided ourselves on providing creative video solutions tailored for clients, whether it be for the purpose of marketing, promotion or entertainment."
Alongside Greer Films, Ms Standen has taken the same creative mindset into her role as a mother and role model to her three young children, John, Lucas and Alice.
"For me, it's all about dedication to every pursuit: at the moment [because of the lockdown] Pat and I are wholly focused on our family during the day, and then we're up until the early hours of the morning working on the business," she said.
"Gone are the days of attempting five jobs at once; it's vital to complete any task you start, whether it be drafting a strategic plan or teaching the kids how to read."
Ms Standen said Greer Films is in the process of moving to a warehouse studio, which is hoping to launch by the end of the year, COVID-depending.
The AusMumpreneur Awards support Australian mothers who are challenging business stereotypes by raising awareness about the contributions made by women with young children to the economy.
Award recipients will be announced live on Facebook between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday, September 8. For more information, visit ausmumpreneur.com.
