Bathurst has now recorded six COVID-19 cases since Friday afternoon, with contact tracers working hard to locate venues of concern.

Cr North said he can't stress how important it is to get tested.

"With six confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported for Bathurst it is vital that if you're feeling unwell, you get tested and isolate until you get your results," he said.

"Council has worked with NSW Health and a second testing clinic is now operating at Mount Panorama to ensure as many residents can be tested as quickly as possible.

"With high testing numbers and continuing to follow the stay at home orders we can make a difference and help stop the spread of COVID in the community. It is more important than ever not to have visitors to your home or mixing of households."

Cr North also encouraged people to get vaccinated and support health care workers.

"If you're eligible, get vaccinated as soon as you can," he said.

"Can I also ask the community to continue to support our health care workers and those at the front line providing testing and vaccination services. They are delivering a vital service to help protect our community and must be thanked for the work they are doing."
