The EP, For What It's Worth, will include Rudgley's two previously-released singles ['Hurricanes' and 'Gone'], two new songs ['Falling' and 'Arisaig'] and a Spacey Jane cover ['Booster Seat'].
Rudgley said the songs on the record have been "a long time in the making."
"Most of these songs have been fully recorded for a number of months, so I can't wait to get them out there," he said.
"I've already received some great feedback for 'Hurricanes' and 'Gone', and I'm confident they'll work well within the larger scope of this EP."
Rudgley said the songwriting process was a mix of carefully-constructed compositions and spur-of-the-moment melodies.
"'Hurricanes' and 'Arisaig' were written a long time ago, while 'Falling' and 'Gone' were written and recorded within hours, so there's the best of both worlds," he said.
"I also wanted to honour Spacey Jane, one of my biggest influences, and the lyrics on 'Booster Seat' are really dark and harsh despite the music sounding upbeat, which I feel best reflects my approach to songwriting.
"All I care about is making good music for people to enjoy."
Rudgley is now based in Sydney, but regularly returns to Bathurst for gigs when able to do so.
For What It's Worth will be released Friday, August 27 on all streaming platforms. For more information, visit Rudgley's Instagram page.
