Due to the current lockdown, Bathurst driving instructor Kyla Scanlon and her husband John have cancelled all driving lessons through their business Jylas Driving School indefinitely.
While Service NSW cancelled driving tests, Ms Scanlon admits driving lessons are a grey area, but she made the decision to stop as a precaution.
"A lot of driving instructors are saying 'can we, can't we?' ... there is no clear indication," she said.
IN BUSINESS NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
The driving school had to cancel fully booked days, but Ms Scanlon encourages her students to watch YouTube videos and practise the knowledge questions.
She is concerned, though, that the break will set some of her students back and is aware that some learner drivers aren't in a position to practise with their parents.
"Sometimes people's lives change because of that ... maybe they need to be able to get to work," she said.
"We have a lot of international people that have come to Bathurst that need to get driving [and] they might not have family and friends to help them."
Ms Scanlon will reschedule lessons as soon as possible.
