MORE than half the eligible residents of Bathurst have received at least their first shot of COVID-19 vaccination, new figures show.

Bathurst MP Paul Toole has released data from across his electorate that show the Blayney local government area (LGA) is currently leading the way for COVID jabs, with 56.1 per cent of residents have had their first jab and 28.2 per cent fully vaccinated.
"For the Bathurst LGA the statistics show that 52.4 per cent of residents had their first dose of vaccine and 27.8 per cent their second dose," Mr Toole said.

"The figures show that Lithgow is also doing well with 50.7 per cent of residents coming forward for their first COVID vaccination while 25.1 per cent now have had both shots and are fully vaccinated."
In Oberon LGA, 47 per cent of residents have had their first jab and 21.4 per cent their second.
"The Mid-Western LGA, which includes the townships of Kandos and Rylstone which are in the Bathurst Electorate, has a vaccination rate of 44 per cent for the first jab while 23.2 per cent of that population are fully vaccinated," Mr Toole said.
The figures also show encouraging week-on-week growth in vaccination rates. Last week just 46.2 per cent of Bathurst residents had received their first dose, rising to 52.4 per cent this week.
