The initiative proved largely successful for Abercrombie House in 2020 as a lockdown-friendly twist on the tourist destination's popular high tea events.
With Bathurst now nearly three weeks into lockdown, Abercrombie House owner Christopher Morgan said the time felt right to reintroduce the popular offering, which was devised by his wife, Xanthe.
"It was such a hit last year that we vowed to do it again should lockdown orders return for Bathurst, and here we are," Mr Morgan said.
"It's a nice thing to do for people who are feeling a little embattled by this lockdown, and for us, it provides income to preserve and maintain Abercrombie House."
Each box will include an assortment of sweet and savoury items, including muffins, scones, profiteroles, melting moments, chocolate-covered strawberries, sandwiches and cupcakes, with tea and coffee bags for good measure.
Mr Morgan said it's vital for businesses and tourism operators to think outside the box during times of lockdown.
"It's absolutely essential to maintain a sustainable visitor economy for the benefit of the Bathurst region, and front-line tourist attractions always flourish off innovation and forward-thinking initiatives," he said.
"While this lockdown is indeed tough on the tourism industry, it'll bounce back when things start to open back up, and the Central Tablelands are full of rich, boutique assets for families from other regions to discover."
Each box costs $20, with an extra $5 for members of the community who require delivery.
The boxes will also be available for pick-up at Abercrombie House from noon to 1pm on Sunday, September 5, 12, 19 and 26.
To order, email abercrombiehouse@bigpond.com or call 0417 258 318. Pre-orders are essential.
