Three new cases were announced for the 24-hour period to 8pm on Friday, which followed six new cases being announced in the 24-hour period to 8pm on Thursday.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole reported that two of the three new cases were linked and were household contacts, but one is a mystery link and is still under investigation.
He said this case would have been infectious in the community.
Mr Toole said Bathurst had 748 daily COVID tests.
The NSW Government's 11am update said there were 38 new cases in the Western NSW Local Health District, which was well down on the 53 new cases in the 24 hours previously.
Of those, there were 22 at Dubbo, nine at Bourke and three at Orange.
Across NSW, there were 1533 new locally acquired cases of COVID and four deaths, all of them in south-west and western Sydney.
NSW Health said there were 173 COVID cases in intensive care in the state's hospitals, of which 62 were on ventilation.
The NSW Government said 72 per cent of people in the state had now had a first vaccination dose and almost 40 per cent had now had two vaccination doses.
