Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said two of the four new cases for Bathurst were infectious in the community.
Though the news was disappointing for Bathurst, cases were well down for the Western NSW Local Health District overall.
The district had 16 new cases after recording 28 new cases in the 24-hour period before.
Twelve of those cases were in Dubbo.
The NSW Government's 11am update said there were 1599 new cases across the state.
There were eight deaths in the 24-hour reporting period.

Mr Toole said there were 507 daily tests for Bathurst on Friday - the same number as on Thursday and up on the 255 daily tests on Wednesday.
A Western NSW Local Health District-Australian Defence Force walk-in vaccination clinic, which opened at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre last Monday morning, has longer hours and more capacity during its last day today.
