In particular, I would like to acknowledge the enormous contribution of principal of Denison College Bathurst Campus, Ken Barwick. Ken, his staff and students have been the driving force behind fundraising for the Orange house since this event began four years ago.

All money raised for Wear Red Day stays in Orange to directly support families from the Bathurst region and other parts of the central and far west.
The fantastic sum of $34,434 raised on Wear Red Day has come at a time when the Orange house has been managing a large shortfall in fundraising.
This is due largely to the cancellation of our major fundraising event for two years in a row - the annual RMHC Orange gala ball.
RECENT LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:
To date, 24 families from Bathurst and district have stayed at the house in Orange for a total of 186 nights.
This equates to a combined savings of $27,900 in accommodation alone for families from your area.
For any family needing to come to Orange for specialist or life-saving care for their baby, child or adolescent, free accommodation is provided for families for as long as they require.
This can be from just a few days to weeks or even months, as they stay close to their child in Orange Hospital.
As well, also provided at no charge are emergency meals, breakfast each day, grocery items for self-catering and meal and fuel vouchers for families returning home.
It is the generosity of communities such as Bathurst which will provide the means to make a beautiful difference in the lives of families at a time when they need it most.
Since Ronald McDonald House Charities opened its doors in Orange, 932 families have stayed for a total 7566 nights.
Our data shows this equates to a saving of a total of $1,134,000 in accommodation costs alone for families in the region who need to stay at the Orange house close to Orange Hospital where their child is a patient.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of our heart, Bathurst, from everyone associated with Ronald McDonald House in Orange.
Your contribution will make a beautiful difference in the lives of families who stay at the house in Orange.
